Welcome!
My name is Scott Forbes and thank you for checking out my blog. I am an Information Security professional with over ten years of experience in Information Technology combined with over twenty years in healthcare. I have worked in various roles during my career covering a wide range of technology and healthcare positions.
In 2002 I started my own consulting business as a way to reach out to others in the healthcare industry that needed IT support but did not have their own in-house staff. Through this venture I worked with a wide variety healthcare related businesses and I came to realize that in many respects the healthcare industry was far behind other industries in their implementations. Even today healthcare is struggling to catch up and meet the demands set fourth by the Federal government and their own industry.
I currently work at a large hospital located in Southern Maine with my focus being on policy, awareness, incident management, risk management, vulnerability assessment and Laboratory Information Systems. I still maintain my own business and work on several local contracts annually.
